Day 1: Yangon arrival Meet on arrival at Yangon International Airport by Woodland guide. Transfer to hotel for check in. Lunch at local restaurant. Afternoon visit to Bogyoke Aung San Market, formerly known as Scott market. Evening visit to Shwedagon Pagoda - 2500 year old world famous stupa. Dinner at local restaurant. Overnight Yangon. Breakfast at hotel. Transfer to airport for flight to Heho. Drive to Pindaya for two and a half hour. Pindaya is a small quiet town, famous for its thousand of Buddha images deposited inside the caves centuries of years ago. Dinner at hotel. Overnight Pindaya. Breakfast at hotel. Trekking will start early morning to Sikya-inn Village inhabited by the hill tribe Danu. After trekking over 7 km, for two hours, the trekking program ends around 09:00 am. Take a rest for a while and have snack and green tea. Then, continue to Yasakyi village, where Palaung hill tribe lives. Trek another 4 km journey for one and a half hours. Lunch and rest in a monastery. Then take a stroll in the village. Tour highlights include studying native ways of living, their cultural and religious type, cultivation or plantation etc. On return trip to Pindaya, guests will trek a different way through the ever green scenery for the visit to Linne-inn Village and Taung Baw Gyi villages, the homes of Danu hill tribe. The whole return trip is about 10 km range and takes 2 hours. Overnight Pindaya. Breakfast at hotel. Transfer to Inlay via Nyaung Shwe. An excursion by boat on Inlay Lake will include seeing the famous leg rowers, typical floating gardens, local method of fishing and village life. Visit to floating market (available to see on the market days only which is held on every five days). Further visits are made to Phaungdaw Oo Pagoda, the weaving village of Inpawkhon (famous for its silk weaving handlooms), Ngaphechaung Monastery - well known for its jumping cats - and other interesting sights. Dinner at hotel. Overnight Inlay. Breakfast at hotel. Morning transfer to airport for flight to Yangon. Lunch at local restaurant. Transfer to hotel. Afternoon visit to Art and Deco handicrafts, Women's Home Workshop. Evening visit includes Botataung Pagoda, a famous landmark on Yangon waterfront and Nanthida jetty to see busy life on the Yangon River. Dinner at local restaurant. Overnight Yangon. Breakfast at hotel. In time transfer to airport for international departure. |
