Flower Festival 2006

The first ever Flower Festival was successfully held from December 13 until January 13, 2006 in Pyin Oo Lwin, Myanmar. The flower festival was attended by over 200,000 visitors from nearby Mandalay and many flower enthusiasts from all over the country.

This event is aimed to promote Myanmar's flowers, plants and orchids to both Myanmar nationals and foreign visitors. The National Kandawgyi Gardens plans to host another event in coming winter season and eventually to be included in the Festival Calendar as yearly event in the future.
